Elaine’s keen eye found this piece of information. The exhaust tower in question is the multiple stack tower near the common fuel storage pool. People might recognize it as the
southern tower or the wider one with 4 pipes in it. This image shows the tsunami waters just starting to come into the plant. Yet the vent pipe connection into the tower is severed.
Makanaka Blog has all the images of the tsunami rolling in.
This raises the potential of other pieces of hardened vent systems being severed or damaged in the earth quake.
