Radiation: Expedition samples Pacific Ocean
A new 15-day scientific expedition aboard the University of Hawaii’s research vessel Kaimikai-O-Kanoloa will measure radioactive substances in the Pacific Ocean that leaked from the Fukushima nuclear power plant over the past months. The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) will lead the first international, multidisciplinary assessment.
