TEPCO Wants To Restart Units 5 & 6 At Fukushima Daiichi
This is no joke but it sure sounds like one. TEPCO has been quietly planning to restart units 5 & 6 at the destroyed Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. As some of the workers pointed out, all of the support services and administration facilities for those reactors are destroyed.
In TEPCO’s current working plans has been the repair and improvement to the intake system and sea walls at unit 5 and 6. There are multiple activities that serve no purpose other than towards restarting these two reactors. The units were in maintenance mode when the earthquake hit and they sit slightly higher than units 1-4. This saved them from the total destruction seen at units 1-4.
