Chiba Clears Rice For Shipment
Rice testing in Chiba showed two locations (out of 319 sampled) that showed 46-47 becquerels/kg in the rice tested. All rice from the area has been released because it fell under the 500 bq/kg limit set by the government.
This illustration shows the locations of the two samples.
For comparison purposes, here is the Fukushima Radiation Contour Map. You can see the yellow hot-spots just under the 200km circle (the outer one) at bottom-center. This was the radiation entry path into Tokyo after the mid-March wind shift.
Chiba has also been testing seawater, as well as air, drinking water, dust and rainwater.
