Reporter Visited Fukushima – Unit 4 Very Exposed, 10 Ambulance Calls Per Day

Reporter Mr.Imanishi of Shukan Asahi appeared recently on TV explaining the details of his trip to Fukushima Daiichi. He mentions that the damage is much worse that he previously understood it from TEPCO’s images. The worker he coordinated with to gain access said he hears about 10 ambulance calls a day into the plant. This worker also pointed out that the pipes being used for the various temporary systems are “vinyl”. Many of TEPCO’s technical photos back this up that they are using large hoses and PVC type pipes, many times in places that should have some more robust fittings. These have caused other previous leaks at the plant including the ones mentioned. Fukushima-Diary has a set of manual translations of some of the points made in the interview.
