TEPCO’s Yakuza Problem
TEPCO promised in July they would take action to prevent Yakuza related contractors, workers and employment agencies from having involvement in the disaster work at Fukushima Daiichi. A recent expose by Japan Subculture outlines how TEPCO is claiming they are “doing something” but the national police have doubts. Little if anything has changed in TEPCO processes and workers have still been complaining recently about seeing known Yakuza workers at the plant. Journalists have even used these connections to gain access into the plant including one who made it into the control center unnoticed.
