What Else Is TEPCO Not Telling
After recent media attention on TEPCO’s lying to the Diet investigation over unit 1’s condition TEPCO released a video from November 2012.
The deception and ensuing damage control is just one ongoing concern with TEPCO’s disclosure and honesty. If this video and investigation of unit 1 went three months without any public disclosure, what else is going on at Fukushima Daiichi the public does not know about?
From the start of the disaster TEPCO has blatantly lied to the public and to the Japanese government. They continued to lie to the investigative committee and it appears they continue to lie to the public by not disclosing work at the plant.
In a similar manner TEPCO announced work underway to drill a hole in the first floor to explore into the torus room of unit 1. They reported the hole drilling yet never reported the findings.
This shows there are still gaps in public disclosure and that the government and regulators are not doing enough to oversee the disaster or compel public transparency out of TEPCO. TEPCO’s corporate system is so hopelessly corrupted, only a truly impartial 3rd party overseer could assure actual transparency.
