Radiation Survey Shows Danger Outside Evacuation Zone
Greenpeace did a survey of contamination levels outside the evacuation zone in Fukushima. For reference .5 uSv/h was considered an evacuation area after Chernobyl. Some of the highest levels were found near Kawamata, Date District with one of the high readings at 10 uSv/h at 1 meter off the ground. Parts of the heavily populated cities of Koriyama and Fukushima City were in the 2 uSv/h range. These are a combination of 2011 and 2012 readings. These two years of readings showed there was not a uniform significant reduction of radiation levels.
