Strontium 90 Will Contaminate Coastal Groundwater In 10 Years

Strontium 90 found to be leaking out of the ponds installed by TEPCO is expected to contaminate the coastal groundwater near the plant in 10 years. Kyodo News cites the NRA for this statistic.

Certain ponds at the plant held the backwash sludge water from the reverse osmosis system, adding to the high levels of contaminants in the water.
