Daiichi Workers Sprayed With Contaminated Water From Misting System

Workers waiting for a bus were sprayed with radioactive water at Fukushima Daiichi. TEPCO estimated the workers were contaminated at the rate of 19 bq/cm2. This is above safety limits.

The plant gets water for things like toilets and sinks from a river 10km away. TEPCO claims this is still the source of the water that was being used at the plant but did not explain why it suddenly became contaminated at such a high rate. The workers will also be checked for internal exposure since it is possible they may have inhaled the mist or otherwise taken in the water.
