Wipha Hits Fukushima Daiichi, TEPCO Releasing Water
TEPCO is already releasing rainwater piled up around the storage areas of the plant. The company said they are testing and only releasing water that meets release levels but they only cited a reading for cesium.
The eye of the storm is just off Tokyo as of 8am JST with major portions of the storm already hitting Fukushima Daiichi. Winds near the eye are up to 200kmh (124 mph). The storm should be past the plant by later today JST.
Around Tokyo trains have been stopped and many told to stay home until the storm passes.
The web cam for the plant shows increasing wind and rain. TEPCO lowered all the large cranes in anticipation of the storm.
