Fukushima Daiichi Fuel Storage Locations Updated

7095065203_d00ed65ea7As part of the larger roadmap document TEPCO has reported some major changes in the location of spent fuel around the plant.

The cask storage building on the sea front now has no casks stored inside. At the time of the tsunami there were a number of casks inside the building. TEPCO now records there to be 0 casks in that building.

The temporary cask storage facility on the hill has increased inventory considerably. A total of 1274 spent fuel assemblies stored in 26 casks are now located in the new temporary cask storage facility. This facility has storage capacity of 2930 assemblies. 1656 storage spaces for fuel assemblies remain available.

The common pool has a total of 5643 assemblies currently stored in the pool. This includes those transferred from unit 4 so far. 1197 storage spaces for assemblies remain available.
