Fukushima Reactor Water Leak Sources Admitted By TEPCO
Buried in the most recent Roadmap document is some useful information about how and where reactor water is leaking out of the buildings.
Along with the contaminated water leak to the cable tunnel outside of unit 2, TEPCO has now admitted a leak location for unit 1. The north side of the turbine building is specifically identified as the leak location where there is a pipe opening.
Contaminated water migration north of unit 1 turbine building towards the sea front. The image shows about the 2.5 year mark.
The red box on this map is the leak point of contaminated water out of the unit 1 turbine building.
Contaminated ground water plumes migrating out of the unit 1 turbine building and unit 2 cable tunnel at sea level. The colors indicate the radioactive concentrations in the water.
Contaminated ground water leaking out of the unit 1 turbine building at year one (left) and year 3 (right). The red indicating radioactive concentrations of about 1e+10.
More information can be found in this machine translation of water related sections of the recent roadmap.
