Some Fukushima Workers To Get Lifelong Health Checks

The Health Ministry has announced they will give 20,000 of the workers at Fukushima Daiichi life long health checks. 2,000 were picked for immediate screenings due to the type of work they engaged in early in the disaster. The remaining in the group will receive the checks due to their involvement in the early response at the plant. It was not mentioned if the workers will receive any health care or financial support for health care as part of this effort. The government has also refrained from setting up any sort of ongoing disability or support system for workers who may suffer debilitating problems due to their work at the plant.
