frozen_wall_map Work has begun to install the frozen wall around the reactors at Fukushima Daiichi. The first section to be done is inland of unit 1 in the north corner. This roughly coordinates with the general area of highest contamination at the plant being downstream. Each frozen wall section is defined as a block with a total of 13 blocks.
