Fukushima Sea Soil Radiation Readings Released
Japan’s NRA has released a series of sea soil and sediment readings taken off the eastern coast of Japan. The readings cover the near shore areas of Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki and Chiba prefectures. The highest cesium readings were south of the nuclear plant site in Ibaraki prefecture, south of Iwaki City. High strontium 90 readings were found both north and south of the plant. These readings were higher than the ones directly offshore from the plant. High readings are noted on the image below with a red arrow. The original report from NRA includes GPS coordinates for locating each site with online tools such as Google Maps.
