Takahama Reactor Restarts Appeal Rejected By Court
The restart attempt of the nuclear reactors at the Takahama plant in Japan has again been rejected by the courts. The initial injunction stated that safety could not be guaranteed and that the new safety rules lacked rationality. KEPCO immediately appealed the ruling but now the appeals court has upheld the injunction. This new ruling could give the financially troubled power company another problem to deal with. This also makes two court rulings confirming that the reactor restart plans are not holding up to legal scrutiny.
