Fukushima Daiichi Has More Defective Hoses
After a recent leak from a Kanaflex hose at Fukushima Daiichi, TEPCO inspected other similar hoses at the plant. They found 159 of the Kanaflex type hoses were still in use at the plant and 90% of those were installed improperly. TEPCO says they are working to replace all of the remaining Kanaflex hoses at the plant. These were found to have a high failure rate soon after the disaster where things like weeds and cold weather caused the hoses to fail.
