Fukushima Unit 1 TIPS Inspection Done, High Radiation Found

A new inspection attempt of the unit 1 TIPS room has been completed between September and October of 2015. TEPCO buried the information in the monthly roadmap document. The first attempt to inspect the unit 1 TIPS room was with a robot in 2012. That was unsuccessful after the robot failed to unlock the door.

The highest readings in the TIPS room are between 187 mSv/h and 290 mSv/h at an area near the outer face of the containment wall. TEPCO considers the area usable after decontamination.
