Drones Used To Inspect Fukushima Vent Tower
A flying quadcopter was used to attempt to inspect the Unit 1-2 vent tower at Fukushima Daiichi. The tower has been off limits after it was discovered the area was highly radioactive. The daily plant reports said the drone had a malfunction of the dosimeter and would have the work attempted again in the future.
These efforts have been underway to obtain a better understanding of the situation with the tower that was found to be damaged on top of being highly radioactive. Photos of the work below:
