H4 Tank Farm Removed At Fukushima Daiichi
The notorious H4 tank farm at Fukushima Daiichi has been completely removed. TEPCO mentions that this included some soil remediation but did not detail how extensive this was. The tank farm was part of a hastily constructed series of bolt together water tanks on site. These were used to house a variety of contaminated water and sludge from the reactors and the ensuing water treatment systems.
This tank farm was implicated in the largest onsite leak that eventually flowed into the Pacific.
Bolt together tank panels once removed as sent to an automated cutting system for further dismantling and storage as radioactive waste.
