Fukushima Decomm Plans Solidified
NDF (Nuclear Decommissioning Fukushima) has published a draft report that outlines the plan for decommissioning Fukushima Daiichi. The plan solidifies what concepts will be further researched for implementation. The earlier concept of flooding the containment structures appears to have been removed from the list of potential plans due to the risk of sealing failures. Such a failure would be impossible to resolve without heavily exposing workers and potentially the environment. A machine translation of the NDF report can be found in our Dropbox files here. The infographic below walks through the high points of the report.
