91 Bags Of Contaminated Fukushima Soil Washed Away In Typhoon

NHK is reporting that 90 bags of contaminated soil floated away in a river during Typhoon Hagibis.
25 of those bags were found empty with the contents nowhere to be found. Previously, the incident had been reported but no specific number of bags was mentioned. 1 additional bag was found to have floated away in Tochigi Prefecture.

Bags of contaminated soil in interim storage sites can be anywhere from lightly contaminated to over 100,000 bq/kg with no declared top limit for contamination. The Environment Ministry did not report the contamination levels of the bags that washed away.
