Fukushima Fallout Found In California Soil

The University of Berkeley has found cesium concentrations in the soil near Sacramento, CA. Test samples conducted in mid August showed detectable levels of cesium 134 and 137.

    It’s frustrating that they make a point to add in the exposure for a transcontinental flight, and yet aren’t scientific enough to understand the difference between internal and external exposure.

    Its bad that they detect it, that junk is floating around the world and is being found everywhere… but the comparable is… needing 470+ KG of the sample consumed (with most readings upwards of 1500+kg) to equal a continental flight.

    to address Joanna’s post… Cosmic ray radiation is a deep penetration form of radiation… so it should be pretty close to internal exposure. While its unfortunate to be found locally, I dont’ think I have an appetite big enough to put myself in danger…
