New Images And Video Inside Units 2 And 3
TEPCO released two crane videos. One viewing in the hole of unit 2 and the other some views of the top of unit 3. The images of unit 3 show what looks like at least a portion of the reactor well concrete plug still in place adjacent to the equipment pool. There is also a rust colored stain on the concrete where a steam path has been. We have found rust stained areas in other places where highly radioactive steam or water are leaking in large quantities. Ian Goddard has an illustration showing that this may be due to cesium rather than iron oxide. Unit 2 images show the wall panel that blew out was a removable panel. The bracket appears to be what the wall panel connected to. There was question early on if any of the upper deck wall panels were removable to allow large equipment into the building, this appears to be the case. Both videos are at the bottom of the article, past the image stills.
