Talas Typhoon Update

Talas’ track is again more westerly then previously forecast(good for fuku npp!), the centre is about to cross the coast. There have been some massive 24 hour rainfall totals recorded along the southern coastline with 20 stations recording above 300mm+ and rank 1 being 710mm recorded at YANASE station (24 hour rainfall record for all of Japan is about 850mm set during Ma-on this year) but the rain remains in sporadic grouping. check at ameras to see, if you are interested – agora.ex.nii.ac.jp . Hopefully fuku npp will continue to dodge the higher rainfall totals and the westerly track will certainly help this!
