Radiation Survey Map Shows Widespread Contamination
The science ministry has been working on an aerial survey of Japan to document the total contamination. We reported earlier about levels in Gunma, Chiba and Saitama that were higher than the contamination levels at Chernobyl.
The map ends abruptly at the prefecture borders showing moderate to high levels of radiation near the edges. More prefectures previously thought to be safe will likely show with higher than anticipated radiation levels.
