167 Workers Have Hit Their Radiation Exposure Maximum
167 workers have hit their maximum exposure level of 100 mSv and can no longer work at the plant. Long time workers at the plant are predicting a worker shortage will become a problem in the near future. Discovery News is also seeing such a trend. Industry workers are reluctant to go work over at Fukushima as it could use up all of their potential exposure and cause them to then be unable to work. TEPCO could run into major staffing problems if industry workers with the needed skills have all reached their limits or refuse to work at the plant under the current conditions.
Spring is also quickly approaching. This means the dangerously warm weather than caused so many problems for worker safety will be back in play in a few months. TEPCO hastily implemented some efforts to keep workers cool rather late last summer after a number of workers collapsed in the heat and one died.
