Kansai To Spend 2.5 Billion Dollars To Upgrade Reactor Safety

Kansai has said they will spend more than 200 billion yen ($2.5 billion) to upgrade safety at their 11 reactors. The catch? It will take up to 4 years to complete.
So they won’t be meeting the government’s desired May restart deadline before the last reactor in Hokkaido shuts down.

Critical safety changes needed due to post Fukushima deficiencies would be on the 4 year timeline.
