TEPCO To Keep On 16 Workers With Exceeded Radiation Doses

16 workers currently at the plant will be allowed to continue working even though their exposure levels exceed the 100 mSv maximum exposure level for workers in Japan. On May 1st the maximum exposure level went from the emergency 250 mSv back to the non emergency standard of 100 mSv. The workers being kept on are all critical staff with advanced expertise or extensive knowledge of the plant.

Efforts were made to lower the doses in the quake proof building on site and the workers will be working in the building while on site.
