Prosecutors Fail To Indict TEPCO Execs, Govt. Officials Over Fukushima Disaster
Japanese prosecutors let TEPCO executives and government officials off the hook for their roles in the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The prosecutor claimed they couldn’t have predicted such a disaster but records from before the disaster showed the issue was known. TEPCO has floated multiple excuses for not improving plant defenses including claims it would cause the public to worry about safety at the plant.
The lead lawyer in the case plans to take the issue to an inquest panel and the Fukushima prefecture police.
