Guam Requests Funds To Test For Fukushima Contamination
Guam’s EPA has requested funds from the US EPA so they can begin testing sea water and fish for Fukushima contamination. The island sits near Japan and directly on the Kuroshio current known to be transporting at least some of the contamination from Fukushima Daiichi. The new admissions that the plant has been leaking all along and is expected to increase how much it releases to the sea, of course Guam has increased concerns. US EPA as usual attempted to pawn responsibility off to NOAA and FDA whom have been opting to take no action. If Guam can manage to obtain their own equipment it would be one of the few testing locations in US territories.
