Asahi Shimbun Releases Yoshida Testimony On Fukushima Daiichi
Asahi Shimbun has continued to release portions of an interview between the late Fukushima Daiichi plant manager Masao Yoshida and a government investigation team. The series of articles have had multiple revelations about the early days of the disaster. We will have more reporting on the findings and what they might mean as the articles are released. The Japanese government has refused to release the interviews claiming Yoshida didn’t want them made public. The government has also refused to release the testimony of others at the plant claiming a need for privacy but would not even release statements with names removed.
More extensive versions along with audio recordings have been released by Asahi Shimbun in Japanese. An abbreviated set is available in English.
