Welded Water Tanks Installed At Fukushima Daiichi

Welded water tanks to replace the miles of leaking bolt together tanks at Fukushima Daiichi are being installed. The tanks are welded off site and shipped in by barge, ready to install. This allows workers to do the bulk of the work somewhere safe, leaving only the final move and installation to be done in the radioactive areas. This does make one wonder why TEPCO hadn’t thought of this themselves when the first tanks were being assembled and installed on site.
