New Radiation Spike At Fukushima Daiichi
Cesium levels in well 1-6 near the port jumped on today’s readings.
Readings taken at 9:44am JST October 13 (before Vongfong hit in earnest)
Cesium 134: 61,000 bq/liter
Cesium 137: 190,000 bq/liter
Readings a few days before on Oct 9th were previous record highs and were considerably lower than these new readings.
Cesium 134: 17,000 bq/liter
Cesium 137: 51,000 bq/liter
Monitoring well 1-6 is near the unit 2 intake canal and is part of a cluster of monitoring wells that have seen the worst of the sea front contamination.
