Vongfong To Hit Fukushima Daiichi Tuesday

Forcasts have downgraded the typhoon to a tropical storm as it passes over Kagoshima. When the storm hits Fukushima Daiichi on Tuesday it is expected to have about 40-45 mph winds and dump up to 2-3 inches of rain in the area. The storm will still cause more water migration issues at the plant along with work disruptions.

TEPCO reported over the weekend that one of the groundwater monitoring wells at the sea front of the port had a 10 fold increase in tritium. This was again blamed on the recent typhoon Phanfone that passed over the plant last week.
