Fukushima Unit 1 New Photos Reveal Additional Damage

Photos taken during the removal of the cover on unit 1 showed some additional conditions on the refueling floor that had not been apparent until now. A section of the concrete reactor cover was dislodged during the events at unit 1. The other end of the cover section is not visible, this would give a better idea of how the section became dislodge. It could indicate that the events at unit 1 were worse than just the metal refueling floor being blasted away. Further understanding should be obtained when they begin to remove the refueling floor debris in a few months.
