Japan Court Blocks Takahama Nuclear Plant Restart
One of the nuclear plants favored for an early restart has been barred by the courts. The reactors at the Takahama nuclear plant are prevented from restarting with the court order issued today. The ruling cited that safety can not be assured and questioned Japan NRA’s standards, saying they lacked rationality.
Another court hearing is expected to happen soon regarding a similar lawsuit on the restart of the Sendai nuclear plant, assumed to be the first one that would restart in Japan.
The ruling against Takahama could be appealed but that process could take up to a year.
