Radioactive Drone Lands On Japan Prime Minister’s Roof
A drone carrying a radioactive substance in a vial (assumed to be cesium) was discovered on the roof of the Prime Minister’s residence in Tokyo. No one is sure how long the drone had been on the roof. It was not detected by security systems, but was instead found by a maintenance crew.
The vial gave off low levels of radiation but the Abe administration was quick to declare it to be terrorism, apparently unaware of the irony.
The dark grids on the prime minister’s residence roof are solar panels installed when the new residence was built in 2002.
