TEPCO To Stop Fukushima Work During G-7 Summit

mapTEPCO announced they will halt all decommissioning work at Fukushima Daiichi during the G-7 Summit. The summit will be held in Mie Prefecture, roughly 700 km from Fukushima Daiichi.

So why the precaution?

If there is work at the disaster site that is so dangerous it would potentially impact foreign dignitaries 700 km away, what kind of risk is the population of Japan under all the time?

This is either an over reaction of TEPCO where they so fear any minor bad news, even if it wasn’t a risk to the summit, or there is a real risk they are not clearly admitting to the public.
