Japan To Meet Summer Peak Power Demand With Solar
Japan is now following the path of Germany where solar power may meet the peak power demand during summer. Japan has increased their solar power capacity seven fold since 2011. It now stands that the current solar capacity may be able to handle most of the increased power demand needed to run air conditioning over the summer.
Japan has not had any blackouts over the summers following the Fukushima disaster. During this period the country also had no operating nuclear reactors until recently as NRA has given limited restart permission.
