Trump has been moved to Walter Reed Hospital. This was cited as an “abundance of caution”. A brief 18 second video statement was published to his Twitter account before he left and was the only post made to Twitter all day.
President Trump was spooked after he tested positive for coronavirus and has become increasingly alarmed by his diagnosis as he developed symptoms, like a fever, overnight, according to a person familiar with his reaction. By Friday evening it was reported he had shortness of breath. The White House denied this report. An un-named source at the White House also said Trump’s vitals were “very concerning” before he left for the hospital. The most recent press statement from Walter Reed said Trump was doing “very well”.
Insiders at the White House indicated they opted to move Trump while he was still able to walk on his own, for public optics. Trump was given oxygen while still at the White House before he made an 18 second video and was seen boarding a helicopter.
