Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Loses Offsite Power
Ukraine’s nuclear authority is reporting that Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is now completely without offsite power and is running on diesel generators. They have also shut down the remaining operating reactor units.
More information as we find out the situation at the plant.
Due to rashistsʹkí shelling, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is completely disarmed
Yesterday, November 2, 2022, the last two high-voltage lines of communication of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with the Ukrainian energy system were damaged as a result of Russian shelling. At 23:04 the station went into full shutdown mode. All 20 diesel generators turned on.
Currently, the power scheme of ZAEU’s own needs has been optimized, 9 diesel generators are left in work. Energy units #5 and #6 are transferred to a cold state.Fuel for the operation of diesel generators in the mode of complete disarmament of the UPP remains for 15 days. The countdown has begun.Due to the occupation of the station and the intervention of Rosatom representatives in its work, the opportunities of the Ukrainian side to maintain the UPP in safe mode are significantly limited.Once again, we appeal to the international cooperation to urgently take action for the fastest demilitarization of the UPP, the withdrawal of all Russian military from the station and the city of Energodar and the return of the Zaporizhzhia NPP under full control Ol Ukraine for the safety of the whole world!

This is not a good situation at Zaporizia. It really doesn’t matter who’s doing the shelling, both sides have to stop the shelling at this nuclear site. I would hope that Rosatom this plant and safe shut down. And nuclear melt through at this facility would be damaging to both Ukraine and Russia. Iaea seems to have little control or little inference on the decisions being made by the military’s of both countries. Total stupidity
