Unit 4 Overhead Crane Removed – Enhanced Images

TEPCO has removed the 100 ton overhead crane from unit 4. Asahi Shimbun has further details on TEPCO’s plan for unit 4.

TEPCO plans to:
Remove the entire steel frame and shell of the 5th floor of the building by June 2012
Remove containment vessel lid (yellow cap) and other equipment by the end of August 2012
Install a cover above the reactor building (no date set)
Install equipment to remove fuel from the pool to transfer to the central storage pool.
