Japan Nuclear Society Admits Their Bias

As a side note in a recent NHK story the Atomic Energy Society of Japan polled their members who admitted their overconfidence in nuclear safety and their reluctance to speak out.

Meanwhile, a survey conducted on the Society’s current executives and former members reflected some soul-searching. Many of them said they had been arrogant and overconfident concerning the safety of nuclear plants. They also said that, as part of the nuclear-related industry, they had reservations about opposing power companies.”

Too bad they hadn’t had this kind of soul searching in 2010.
