Worker Dies At Fukushima Daiichi

A construction worker at the plant died after a concrete foundation wall collapsed. Work was being done in an excavation hole when the wall failed trapping the worker under concrete and soil. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The building being worked on was not near the failed reactor buildings. There are questions about the situation the worker was in and if proper safety precautions were being taken.

TEPCO claimed to the media this was the first worker death at the plant. They characterized it as ” worker deaths caused by work (inside the plant)“. Our records show that 3 workers had already died at the plant, not including the two workers who died in the tsunami. There is also a 4th worker death that was considered suspicious enough the police began an investigation.
