Fukushima Unit 3 Fuel Pool Debris Removal Progress

u3_sfp_debris_3_2014TEPCO has accomplished some debris removal from the spent fuel pool as documented in this report. Earlier in 2014 work was conducted to remove debris that was primarily rebar and handrails. Work in March began to focus on removal roof trussing so they could get closer to removing the fuel handling machine and mast.

The pool is still quite full of fine debris on top of the fuel racks as can be seen in the photo. More images and diagrams in the report.
