Tsuruga #2 Reactor To Never Restart

Japan’s NRA declared that they would not revisit their ruling that the fault under the Tsuruga #2 reactor is active. Japanese law forbids the operation of any nuclear reactor if it sits above an active fault line. Due to this, Tsuruga #2 will not be allowed to restart. The fate of the #1 reactor remains undecided. Reactor #1 is planned for decommissioning in 2016 so it is unlikely they will apply for restart permission.

This would leave the entire plant non operational as plans for two new units have also been scrapped.
