Face Mask Rules At Fukushima Daiichi To Be Relaxed In May
TEPCO announced that workers will be allowed to wear half masks or dust masks in more areas at Fukushima Daiichi beginning in May. Currently most areas require a full face mask. Certain areas considered less hazardous will allow workers to wear lesser mask type protection. Areas where highly contaminated water is located would still require full face masks.
Additional dust monitoring is planned. TEPCO also cited the paving of parts of the plant as a partial reason why mask requirements in some areas will be relaxed.
