TEPCO Begins Concreting Unit 4 Trench At Fukushima Daiichi

•Ÿ“‡‘æ‚PŒ´”­‚S†‹@TEPCO has begun concreting in the seawater piping trench for unit 4 at Fukushima Daiichi. The work has been on the longer term roadmap but has been moved up as similar work began last week for unit 2’s seawater piping trench. Japan’s NRA recently criticized TEPCO’s efforts, claiming that contaminated water is still leaving the plant and that it may be leaking out below the current blocking efforts. The water displaced by the concrete is being pumped into the unit 4 turbine building for the short term.
